The Economist recently hosted their global leadership event, World Ocean
Summit here in the Bay Area. World leaders gathered to focus on ocean sustainability and share the work they are doing today with a view to defining new ways to collaborate together to help improve the health of the oceans.
The President of Portugal, the ex-President of Costa Rica, Prince Albert of Monaco, dozens of NGO’s, civil and private organizations, and hundreds of individuals came together to share their stories. MediaMobz was invited along to help capture and tell this big story through videos distributed by the Economist to their various digital channels.
How did it all come together? The Economist identified and hired through MediaMobz’s marketplace the most-qualified, local team to capture the event. Eddie Codel was ultimately selected from a large field owing to his deep experience in capturing and live webcasting major events across the Bay Area.
Additionally, separate Job Auctions in our Marketplace yielded two editors – Nils Cowen and Steve Agnos – to generate on-demand event-highlights and a series of one-on-one or thought leadership interview videos.
Our platform enabled the Economist to scale video content for customer engagement. We specifically enabled them to identify and retain creative and production talent, enable collaboration and editing between Bay Area producers, the Economist’s regional team in Hong Kong and their London HQ, and enable fast, simple and complete publishing courtesy of our Mpages like World Ocean Summit 2014 as well as meet the increasing video content requirements of the Economist and their global audience.
